This is the first issue of SCC E-News, we have not yet finalized the name for this newsletter, so we'd love to hear your suggestions, click here to pass along your great ideas. The newsletter format is lean and clean so that all members will be able to stay in touch with what's happening at the Saskatchewan Craft Council. This electronic newsletter will be e-mailed to SCC members every second Friday.
January 19: Michael Hosaluk exhibition “Containment” opens at the Mendel Art Gallery in Saskatoon. Opening reception starts at 7:00 p.m. The SCC is a co-sponsor of this exhibition. February 28: Fine Craft Auction Fundraiser co-sponsored by the SCC and the Saskatoon Community Youth Art Project. Details will be announced soon.
Fishing Lodge Project: The SCC will be marketing fishing or outdoors related work to Saskatchewan fishing lodges. Images of work must be submitted by January 26. For more information, log into the members section of the SCC website, look in the "General/Announcements" section. Your username is the first letter of your first name followed by your last name (for example, the username for Colin Wallace would be: cwallace), and your password is: scc. Once you have logged in, we recommend that you change your password to whatever suits you, because until you change it, anyone else could log in as you! Wine Goblets: The SCC will require approximately 100 wine goblets for the Fine Craft Auction. We will pay members $15 (wholesale) for each goblet purchased. Submit a picture of a sample goblet and the number that can be supplied to Chris Jones at scc.memberservices@shaw.ca by January 26. We will place orders amongst interested suppliers. Delivery will be required by February 25. Her-icane Festival: The Her-icane GoDiva Festival will be holding a juried craft component of this festival focusing on women artists. Deadline for applications is January 12. For more information, visit the Her-icane website. SCC Fine Craft Auction: The deadline for submissions to this artist-friendly fundraising Fine Craft Auction (co-sponsored with the Saskatoon Community Youth Art Project) is 5:00 pm, January 15.
