NEWS OF THE WEEK NEW SCC GALLERY EXHIBITION - POWER OF 10: Sask Terra is celebrating its 10th Anniversary with an exhibition of Members' work. The exhibition will be held from May 4 to June 24, with an Anniversary Reception on Friday, Jun 1, from 7:00 to 9:00pm. EXPO 2007 was another outstanding evening of Fine Craft in Regina. Details of the event will follow in the near future. A special thanks to the EXPO committee members for all their hard work and dedication. View a selection of photos from this year's EXPO. SCC ANNUAL MEETING: Be sure to attend this year's AGM, to be held on Sunday, May 27, from 10:30 am to 3:00 pm at the Craik Eco-Centre (the real half-way point between Saskatoon and Regina). TRAVEL GRANTS: Canada Council for the Arts: Travel Grants are available to professional artists in visual arts including artists in photography, fine craft and architecture, and independent critics and curators. June 1 and October 1, 2007 are the next deadlines for travel grants for professional artists. Two catigories of support are provided under this program: Presentation Travel and Travel to Artists' Residencies. Art InCLINEd: This Sunday, April 29, at 7:00 pm, M. Craig Campbell will be featured on SCN's Art InCLINEd TV Show. Host and mixed media artist Heather Cline takes viewers on a visual and material discovery of art - profiling artists in their studio at work, then in her own studio environment for a unique creative encounter. OPPORTUNITIES FOR SCC MEMBERS BOARD OPENINGS AT SCC: This is your opportunity to have a direct say in the future of the Saskatchewan Craft Council. CONGRESS 2007: From May 26 to June 1, the University of Saskatchewan is host to CONGRESS 2007. Over 6,000 academics from the Social Sciences and Humanities will be attending the meetings of over 80 academic societies. The Saskatchewan Craft Council will be participating in CONGRESS 2007 by organizing a Fine Craft exhibition and sale during the event. INVITATION TO ARTISANS: On Friday, June 1 and Saturday, June 2, the Broadway BID is pleased to host the third annual Broadway Art Encounter. This two-day self guided art walk features both completed work and artists at work. Businesses and shops are transformed into exhibition spaces, taking art out of the gallery and into the everyday. Saskatchewan artists are invited to participate in one, or all, of three ways:
