I have worked fulltime as a stone carver for over a decade in Saskatchewan. I have been involved with the SCC for the past decade both as a juried member and and exhibitor, and for the past two years as a board member. Excellence in art and craft continues to be a driving force in my life and work. I hope that my time with the board can contribute something back to those who have so graciously assisted my growth as an artist.

I have been exploring my creative side with artistic woodturning and photography since 2003. My heart lies in the Boreal Forest region of Saskatchewan where I have resided for the past 40 years. The laughing streams, silent forests, camouflaged wildlife and echoing storms have inspired me to express my joy of living in this awesome environment.
I was a Physics Teacher for 30 years and had a 25 acre vegetable and fruit market garden for 25 years. I am a juried member of the Saskatchewan Craft Council I would like to contribute my efforts as a member of our elected Board.

MEMBER AT LARGE: Judy Wood
Term expires: May 2014 | Email: judywood@sasktel.net
I have been a career artist/craftsperson since the early 70s. I was a founding member of Handmade House, and have spent several decades "in the trenches" selling my work, directly via markets and trade shows, also through consignment shops and galleries.
I have a fine-art major university degree, and have actively worked over the years to learn as much as I can about a variety of art and craft media. I worked with stained glass (foiled pieces and mosaic) for the better part of twenty years. My current explorations involve photography with digital manipulation, mixed media works, and encaustic. I have also initiated and hosted a successful invitational fall art show for the past four years.
I feel I could bring a practical and occasionally "alternate" viewpoint to the SCC board mix, and look forward to working with others to keep the SCC fresh and viable.
