Job Posting: Member Services Coordinator

Temporary, Full-time Leave Replacement

 

The Saskatchewan Craft Council (SCC) is hiring a full-time Member Services Coordinator on a six-month term position. Reporting to the Executive Director, the successful candidate will provide support to SCC’s members, ensuring that SCC member events meet high standards of quality, that members find new opportunities for professional advancement and market development, and that their achievements are publicly recognized.

 

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate all aspects of the SCC’s marketing events, plus new initiatives that we are undertaking; this includes advertising, logistics, and facilitating the markets and events;
  • Coordinate the SCC’s out of province marketing programs (wholesale & retail), including participant recruitment, preparedness, and logistics;
  • Work with the Executive Director to develop annual program budgets and ensure that program expenses are kept to within the approved budget;
  • Develop and organize professional events that educate members on topics they are interested in and/or provide economic benefits to SCC members;
  • Organize annual jurying opportunities for different craft media ensuring that those who wish to have their work juried are able to do so on a timely basis; and
  • Work with SCC members to ensure that they are utilizing marketing opportunities like the SCC Membership Directory to the greatest extent possible

 

Qualifications and Experience:

Required

  • Experience coordinating both small and large scale events
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including exceptional computer skills and familiarity with MS Office suite of programs
  • A good listener
  • Basic knowledge of cultural industries or of the craft community specifically.
  • Excellent problem solving and decision making skills.
  • Can handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • A team player, able to work in an open-office format
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred

  • Experience using Slack, OneDrive, Air Table, Jot Form, Societ (formerly SUMAC)
  • Experience in public relations in the voluntary sector, including doing media interviews.

 

Working Conditions: Average of 35 hours of work per week; primarily expected to work normal working hours Monday to Friday with some evening and weekend work expected during special events.  Some travel and some lifting required.

 

Salary and Benefits: 

  • As offered in the SGEU Collective Bargaining Agreement between the SGEU and the Saskatchewan Craft Council.
  • Starting salary: Pay Band 6; $25.72 per hour.
  • This is a six-month position covering a leave of absence.
  • Approximate term: April 22 to October 15, 2024 (SCC may extend the position)
